England Under-21 international Kane has enjoyed a phenomenal breakthrough campaign, with his brace in the 3-0 weekend win over west bromwich albion taking his tally to 10 for the season in the BPL and 20 in all competitions.
The 20-goal mark is often viewed as a benchmark for a top-class striker in a season and, having signed a number of players to find the back of the net on a regular basis, Spurs have found their man in the form of an unassuming youngster who joined the club's academy set-up in 2005.
Kane signed fresh terms in north London last August but his hot streak sealed a long-term deal running until 2020 on Monday, providing an ideal start to a week that will conclude with Saturday's eagerly anticipated derby fixture against Arsenal.
"It's been a great six months," he told www.tottenhamhotspur.com. "I've been really pleased with how things have gone. This [contract] is another stepping stone and hopefully now I'll push on again from this and get even better.
"All you can do as a footballer is try to get better and better and that's what I aim to do, to get better, score more goals and play better for the team. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season.
"I'm only 21 and I've a lot of football ahead of me. I'll keep my feet on the ground and keep working hard for the team and for the club.
"I've been at Spurs since I was 11 and always loved the club. I've been here 10 years now and hopefully there are many more good times to come."
In common with most players who have the knack of regularly finding the back of the net, Kane has come to hear his name ringing out from the stands and he hopes to keep the Spurs faithful in good voice for the rest of this season and beyond.
"The Chelsea game on new's day [a 5-3 victory in which Kane scored twice] was probably the loudest I've heard it and it was an emotional night, a very good night and hopefully there are more to come," he said. "I'd love the fans to keep singing my name and hopefully I'll continue to do well on the pitch and we'll continue to do well as a team."
One man who is not surprised by Kane's progress is Spurs midfielder and fellow academy product Ryan Mason.
Currently in the midst of a breakout campaign of his own, the 23-year-old revealed he tipped Kane to hit the 20-goal mark in 2014/15 - even if his colleague's rapid progress towards that figures has caught him by surprise.
"It's funny, I was sat together in an ice bath with Harry in pre-season and I said to him he'll get 20 goals this season,” said Mason. "I didn't think he'd get it this quickly though! He's on fire, he's been fantastic for us."
