Mauricio Isla has no regrets swapping Juventus for QPR.
Instead of chasing a third successive Serie A winners’ medal, the 26-year-old is involved in a scrap for survival in the Premier League.
Isla told the London Evening Standard: “People may ask if it was a tough decision to leave Juventus
because they are always at the top of the League and QPR are fighting relegation.
“A lot has been said, especially back in Chile, about the decision I took to move to QPR.
“They said it was the wrong decision and asked, ‘why would you leave a side like Juventus who are always fighting for trophies and go to a club just fighting relegation?’
“But I was convinced about my decision to come here. I just wanted to play and play Premier League football. I want to be here.
“I’m very happy to be playing in this League. It’s very competitive. Any side can beat any other — no matter where teams are in the table. You never know what’s going to happen until the end. I’m very happy being a regular in the team. I’m feeling great. I’m in a good place because I think I’m doing well. My life here in England is very similar to what it was in Italy. I’m trying to learn English, which is very difficult for me.”
