Real Sociedad boss Moyes: I'm happy I took this gamble

Real sociedad boss David Moyes says he's doing all he can to immerse himself in the local culture.
La Real were third from bottom when Moyes took charge but he has steered them away from immediate danger and is aiming for a mid-table finish.

“It was a difficult decision to come here but I also think it was a risky one and a tough one because I could have taken other options and stayed,” the former Manchester United and Everton manager said.
“But I thought ‘go on, have a go at it,’ and I’ve got to say I’ve not been disappointed.
“It’s very nice here. Great temperature, and it’s been great to train in.
“The weather’s been fantastic, and makes a change from the howling gale back home all the time!”
He also told the People: “I think if you come abroad then you have to try to immerse yourself in the culture, and I think that would be a big thing for any players coming out.
“We eat late and lunch late, but I’ve got to say that we’ve enjoyed it. At the moment we’ve not put on too much weight, we’re doing okay, keeping the training going as well.
“I’ve been taking Spanish lessons and I’ve got to say I’m enjoying those. But we’ve been learning football words.
“So I’m trying to show that I’m learning, I want to show people that we’re making a real effort to get into the culture and learn the language, be able to communicate better with the players.”
