Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has named Sami Khedira in his starting line-up for Saturday's derby against Atletico, as Cristiano Ronaldo returns from suspension.
The Blancos are without a host of first team players for the big match at Vicente Calderon, including the
injured Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Luka Modric and James Rodriguez, and the suspended Marcelo.
Khedira earns a rare start in place of James in the centre of midfield. Meanwhile, Nacho Fernandez partners Raphael Varane in an inexperienced-looking centre back pairing, with Fabio Coentrao coming in at left back.
Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo returns in attack alongside Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.
Hosts Atletico know they must win to close the gap on league leaders Real to four points, and there are few surprises in Diego Simeone's starting XI.
The Rojiblancos are at full-strength with Mario Mandzukic leading the line, supported by Antoine Griezmann.
